Subsection 2: Organisation and operation

If the Chairman is absent or unable to attend, the Board of Directors of the French Office for Immigration and Integration is chaired by the Vice-Chairman representing the ministers responsible for immigration and integration. The deliberations of the Board of Directors of the French Office of Immigration and Integration are adopted by a majority of the votes of the members present or represented. The Chairman has the casting vote in the event of a tie.

The Secretaries-General of the supervisory ministries or their representatives, the Director General, the Budget Controller and the Accounting Officer attend meetings of the Board of Directors of the French Office for Immigration and Integration in an advisory capacity.The Director General may be assisted by members of the establishment’s staff who attend meetings of the Board of Directors without taking part in the voting.

The duties of a member of the Board of Directors of the Office français de l’immigration et de l’intégration are not remunerated.However, the chairman receives a functional allowance, the amount of which is set by order of the ministers responsible for immigration and the budget.

Members of the Board of Directors of the French Office for Immigration and Integration may be reimbursed for their travel and subsistence expenses under the conditions laid down in the regulations applicable to civil servants.

Subject to the provisions of Article R. 121-29, the deliberations of the Board of Directors of the French Office for Immigration and Integration are enforceable by operation of law fifteen days after their receipt by the ministers responsible for immigration and integration.
