Article L224-62-1 of the French Consumer Code

When a fair, exhibition or other commercial event covered by Chapter II of Title VI of Book VII of the Commercial Code takes place on the territory of a European grouping of territorial cooperation, the representative of the State in the département may, by way of derogation from the Article 2 of Law no. 94-665 of 4 August 1994 on the use of the French language, authorise the use, without translation, of the language of the border country for commercial documents or documents intended for the public relating to a product or service, provided that the absence of a French translation of these documents cannot constitute a risk to the safety or health of consumers and that the purchase of this product or service has been the subject of prior written consent by the consumer to the fact that these documents are not translated.

Article L224-62-1

Lorsqu’une foire, un salon ou une autre manifestation commerciale relevant du chapitre II du titre VI du livre VII du code de commerce se déroule sur le territoire d’un groupement européen de coopération territoriale, le représentant de l’Etat dans le département peut, par dérogation à l’article 2 de la loi n° 94-665 du 4 août 1994 relative à l’emploi de la langue française, autoriser l’usage, sans traduction, de la langue du pays frontalier pour les documents commerciaux ou à destination du public relatifs à un produit ou à un service, dès lors que l’absence de traduction en langue française de ces documents ne peut constituer un risque pour la sécurité ou la santé des consommateurs et que l’achat de ce produit ou de ce service a préalablement fait l’objet du consentement écrit du consommateur au fait que ces documents ne soient pas traduits.
