Part-time employees benefit from the rights granted to full-time employees by law and by company or establishment agreements, subject, as regards conventional rights, to specific terms provided for by a collective agreement.
The trial period for a part-time employee may not be longer than that for a full-time employee.
Taking into account the length of time worked and seniority in the company, the remuneration of a part-time employee is proportional to that of an employee who, with the same qualifications, occupies an equivalent full-time post in the establishment or company.
For the purposes of determining seniority rights, the length of seniority is counted for the part-time employee as if he or she had been employed on a full-time basis, with periods not worked being taken into account in full.
The redundancy payment and the retirement payment for an employee who has been employed full-time and part-time in the same company are calculated in proportion to the periods of employment completed under either of these two arrangements since joining the company.
