Section 14: Tasks of the Institute for Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety

When, in the light of the results of individual dosimetric monitoring, the exposure of a worker has exceeded one of the dose limit values set in Article R. 4451-6, the Institut de Radioprotection et de Sûreté Nucléaire shall immediately inform the employer, the Minister for Labour, the Autorité de Sûreté Nucléaire or the delegate for nuclear safety and radiation protection for defence-related installations and activities.

The Institut de Radioprotection et de Sûreté Nucléaire shall draw up an annual report on the results of measurements of worker exposure, including levels of exposure to ionising radiation, taking particular account of occupational activities and the nature of exposure, as well as an analysis of these data. The Institut de Radioprotection et de Sûreté Nucléaire may, in compliance with national defence and medical secrecy requirements, communicate the results of dosimetric monitoring it holds to study and research organisations that request it and with which it has signed an agreement.
