Any approved association that has been registered for at least three years and whose purpose is the study and protection of the heritage defined in Article L. 1 of the Heritage Code, may exercise the rights granted to civil parties in respect of the offences punishable under Articles 311-4-2 et 322-3-1 of the Criminal Code as well as Article L. 114-1 of the Heritage Code and directly or indirectly harming the collective interests it is intended to defend.
A Conseil d’Etat decree sets the conditions under which the associations mentioned in the previous paragraph may be approved.
A foundation recognised as being in the public interest may exercise the rights recognised to civil parties under the same conditions and subject to the same reservations as the association mentioned in this article.
