The organisation and supervision of the electoral process, the counting of votes and the announcement of the results of the election are entrusted to a commission called the “Commission supérieure de l’élection”, which also sets the date on which it will count the votes. Extracts from the electoral list are posted in each administrative unit of the Banque de France. Any complaints against the drawing up of the electoral list must be sent in writing to the Chairman of the Commission. The Commission decides on the complaints received, amends the electoral list if necessary and notifies the administrative units concerned of any additions or deletions it makes.

Immediately after the expiry of the deadline set for the submission of candidatures, the Committee shall draw up a final list of the candidatures accepted. It shall submit the list to the Governor, who shall immediately notify the staff of the list. Candidates may send in nomination papers for posting or distribution in each administrative unit in accordance with the procedures laid down by the Committee.

The ballot shall be opened in the places and at the times determined by the committee and brought to the attention of the staff by means of a circular. Voters cast their votes in person. The committee shall draw up and submit to the Governor a report showing the name of the elected official and, where appropriate, a report setting out the complaints signed by one or more electors and addressed to the committee and the observations made by each member of the committee and, where appropriate, those of the candidates.

Councillors representing Banque de France staff retain the remuneration and promotion rights corresponding to the grade they hold at the date of their election.
