Professional bodies for health, safety and working conditions are set up in industries presenting particular risks. These bodies are responsible in particular for 1° Promoting safety training ; 2° Determining the technical causes of occupational risks; 3° Encouraging professional initiatives in the field of prevention; 4° Proposing to the public authorities any measures which experience has shown to be useful.
Professional bodies for health, safety and working conditions bring together representatives of representative employers’ and employees’ organisations. Their activities are coordinated by the National Agency for the Improvement of Working Conditions.
Decrees of the Conseil d’Etat shall determine the organisation, operation and terms and conditions of employer contributions to the funding of the bodies provided for in this section.
Health and safety committees, set up by collective labour agreements and composed of employer and employee representatives, are responsible for promoting safety training and contributing to the improvement of health and safety conditions.
