Chapter I: General provisions

A coordinating committee for the fight against sexually transmitted infections and the human immunodeficiency virus is set up in each geographical, sub-regional and regional area, defined by an order of the Director General of the Regional Health Agency. The same order designates the public health establishments in which these committees are set up.

The coordination committee is responsible for : – coordinating, within its field of competence and according to the sexual health approach referred to in article L. 3121-2 of this Code, the players working in the fields of care, clinical and therapeutic expertise, screening, prevention and health education, clinical and epidemiological research, training, social and medico-social action, as well as associations of patients or users of the healthcare system ; –…

I. – As part of the task set out in the fourth paragraph of article D. 3121-35, the Committee collects anonymised medico-epidemiological data from healthcare establishments in the region in order to analyse them. II. – The Committee may also collect such data from voluntary healthcare professionals and laboratories, in coordination with the regional intervention units mentioned in article L. 1413-4 of this code.

I. – Up to a maximum of fifty full members, the coordination committee comprises : 1° Representatives of health, social or medico-social establishments, who may be chosen from among the health professionals practising there; 2° Representatives of health professionals and social action, prevention and health promotion; 3° Representatives of patients and users of the healthcare system; 4° Qualified personalities.
