Article L212-10 of the French Sports Code

Any person who, for remuneration or on a voluntary basis, exercises one of the functions of teacher, instructor, educator, trainer or leader of a physical or sporting activity or uses these titles or any other similar title in breach of article L. 212-9 is punishable by one year’s imprisonment and a fine of 15,000 euros.

Article L212-11 of the French Sports Code

Persons carrying out the activities mentioned in the first paragraph of article L. 212-1 for remuneration must declare their activity to the administrative authority. A decree of the Conseil d’Etat sets out the terms and conditions of this declaration.
