Chapter III: Health monitoring, health emergencies and health promotion

The Agence nationale de santé publique is a public administrative body under the authority of the Minister for Health. To ensure the implementation of the national health monitoring and surveillance system and to improve the relevance of its actions, the Agency has, under its authority, regional response units, which report to the Directors General of the Regional Health Agencies. It concludes agreements with the regional health agencies for the implementation of its missions and specifying the operating procedures of the regional response units.

To carry out its tasks, the Agency relies on : 1° A national public health network which it organises and runs. This network is made up of any public or private person, French or foreign, who provides assistance with the Agency’s missions and cooperates with it, in particular by means of an agreement or participation in public or scientific interest groups of which the Agency is a member.
