Article L722-1 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

When the foreign national has not complied with his or her obligation to enforce the removal order against which he or she is subject, the administrative authority may take the decisions provided for in Titles III and IV, necessary for the ex officio enforcement of removal orders, provided that actual removal is only carried out under the conditions provided for in Articles L. 722-7 to L. 722-10.
