The provisional decision is taken after consultation with the relevant Selective Production Grants Committee.
The final award decision is taken after setting the amount of aid, determined after the opinion of the costing committee mentioned in Article 211-151.
The amount of aid is set at a maximum of €100,000. This amount is increased to a maximum of €152,000 for a first or second film.
The aid is granted in the form of an advance.The aid is the subject of an agreement concluded with the production company.The agreement cannot be executed until the cinema exhibition licence has been issued.
The aid is reimbursed from the sums calculated in accordance with articles 211-24 to 211-35, after application of an excess set at €50,000. Repayment is made up to the expiry of the periods stipulated in the aforementioned articles, in a proportion that may not be less than 25% of the sums calculated and up to a limit of 80% of the advance granted. Where the production company does not provide proof that all the financial possibilities available to it to ensure the normal repayment of the aid have been implemented, the repayment may, without prejudice to the dispositions de l’article D. 312-1 du code du cinéma et de l’image animée, être effectué sur les sommes calculées au titre des autres œuvres cinématographiques produites par cette entreprise.
Selective financial aid is awarded prior to production for the production of feature-length fiction or animated films, selected by a jury, that respond to a theme within a particular genre defined each year by the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée and have artistic merit.This aid is awarded once a year, for a maximum of three works.

The same project cannot benefit from both production aid for genre films and production aid before and after completion.
The application for support is submitted by the delegated production company, up to a limit of two projects per company for each annual session.
