The amount of aid is set at €500,000 per project, subject to the provisions of articles 211-20 to 211-22.
Projects are pre-selected by reading committees. The shortlisted projects are submitted to the genre film jury for selection.
The decision to grant aid lapses if filming does not begin within a maximum of twenty-four months from the date of notification to the beneficiary. In exceptional circumstances, and at the reasoned request of the production company, the aforementioned period may be extended for a period not exceeding one year, by decision of the President of the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée.
Aid is awarded in the same form and according to the same procedures as those set out in articles 211-107,211-109 and 211-110.
Selective financial aid is awarded for the creation of original music specially intended for feature-length cinematographic works.
Projects that meet the following conditions are eligible for support for the creation of original music:1° They must be intended for cinematographic works that :a) Have been approved for investment;b) Have a production budget of less than €7,000,000 for feature films or documentaries, or less than €10,000,000 for animated films;2° The budget devoted to the creation of the original music for the cinematographic work represents either a minimum of 1.5%…
Grants for the creation of original music are awarded on the basis of the artistic quality of the proposed musical projects and the conditions under which the cinematographic works for which they are designed are produced.
The application for aid must be submitted by the delegated production company at least three months before the date on which the work is due to be shown in cinemas.
The decision to award a grant is taken on the advice of the Music Grants Committee.
The aid is awarded in the form of a grant.The aid is the subject of an agreement with the production company.
