Selective financial aid is awarded for the production of feature-length cinematographic works of cultural interest to the French overseas departments, regions and communities.
Aid for the production of works of interest to overseas cultures is granted in consideration of the contribution that the works are likely to make to a better knowledge of the communities, to their enhancement by a wide audience, to the promotion of their cultural expressions or to the training of their residents in cinematographic expression and the cinema professions.
The application for aid must be submitted by the delegated production company before filming begins.
The decision to grant aid is taken after consultation with the Overseas Aid Committee.
The aid is awarded in the form of a grant.The aid is the subject of an agreement with the production company.
A committee is responsible for examining applications for pre-production support submitted for a director’s first feature-length film. It has seven members, including two co-chairmen.
A committee is responsible for examining applications for pre-production support for a director’s second or third feature film. It has seven members, including two co-chairmen.
A commission is responsible for examining applications for pre-production aid other than those mentioned in articles 211-142 and 211-143. It is made up of seven members, including two co-presidents. .
A committee is responsible for examining applications for post-completion grants. It has thirteen members, including two co-chairmen.
Each committee is co-chaired by the same number of members.
