Article 59 bis of the French Customs Code

Customs officers and all persons whose duties or responsibilities require them to carry out functions in any capacity whatsoever at the central administration or in the external customs services or who are involved in the application of customs legislation are bound by professional secrecy, under the conditions and subject to the penalties laid down in Article 226-13 of the Criminal Code.

Article 59 bis

Sont tenus au secret professionnel, dans les conditions et sous les peines prévues à l’article 226-13 du code pénal, les agents des douanes ainsi que toutes personnes appelées à l’occasion de leurs fonctions ou de leurs attributions à exercer à quelque titre que ce soit des fonctions à l’administration centrale ou dans les services extérieurs des douanes ou à intervenir dans l’application de la législation des douanes.
