No sum of money may be paid to staff by patients, either as a gratuity or as a deposit.
Everyone is required to observe strict personal hygiene within the health care establishment.
The postmaster is available to hospital patients for all postal operations.
In-patients using the telephone pay the corresponding charges. They may receive telephone calls as long as these do not interfere with the running of the services.
Television sets may only be brought into the hospital with the authorisation of the Director. Under no circumstances may radio, television or other sound equipment disturb the rest of patients or their neighbours.
Hospitalised patients may, in view of the length of their stay and their state of health, be granted exceptional leave of absence for a maximum period of forty-eight hours. Such leave is granted by the Director, after receiving a favourable opinion from the Department Head Physician. Subject to the provisions of article L. 1111-5 or any decisions by the judicial authority, minors may only be entrusted to persons exercising parental authority or to third parties expressly authorised by them, for discharges during hospitalisation.
When the in-patient’s state of health no longer requires them to remain in one of the establishment’s departments, they are discharged by the Director on the recommendation of the department head doctor. The Director or his delegate signs the discharge form on the patient’s individual form. The discharge note issued to the patient must not contain any diagnosis or medical information relating to the illness that led to hospitalisation.
The attending physician is informed by the liaison letter provided for in article R. 1112-1-2 after the patient has been discharged of the medical prescriptions to which the patient must continue to adhere. He will be given any information that may enable him to continue to monitor the patient, if necessary.
