Labels may be awarded by the President of the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée when classifying arthouse cinemas and awarding subsidies.Labels may be accumulated.
Labels are awarded in consideration of: 1° The average number of film screenings made up of art house cinematographic works meeting the conditions set for each label by the articles 231-23 to 231-25, for each of these categories of works; 2° The number of screens in the establishments; 3° The broadcasting of cinematographic works in their original version; 4° The regularity of programming, as the majority of cinematographic works must…
The “research and discovery” (RD) label is awarded in particular in consideration of the number of arthouse cinematographic works represented in establishments qualified as “research and discovery” and appearing on the list mentioned in article 231-3.
The “young audience” label (JP) is awarded in particular in consideration of: 1° The number of art house cinematographic works represented in establishments qualified as “young audience”. By way of derogation from article 231-26, the classification, labels and aid, as well as, where applicable, the direct allocations provided for in articles 231-3 and 231-6 and the selective aid provided for in article 412-11, allocated in year n are subject to re-evaluation in year n + 1 in the following cases:
