TITLE V: POWERS OF THE REGION IN RELATION TO PLANNING AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

As part of regionalised planning and establishment location plans, the region defines and develops regional technology clusters. It determines multi-annual programmes of regional interest. For the implementation of multi-annual programmes of regional interest l referred to in article L. 4252-1, the region may enter into agreements for actions, of limited duration, with the State, public or private research bodies, higher education establishments, public establishments, technical centres and companies. The region may also initiate an inter-regional research programme organised by an agreement linking it to one or more other regions.

Each region has a regional advisory committee for research and technological development placed under the regional council. A decree in the Council of State determines the socio-professional groups and institutions whose representation must be ensured on the regional advisory committees for research and technological development, as well as the conditions under which these groups and institutions are called upon to propose their candidates.
