Pharmacists must keep their local Association Council informed of any contracts or agreements for the supply or provision of services which they have entered into with both public and private establishments, as well as with health or social welfare establishments. The same applies to payment delegation agreements entered into with social security bodies, mutual insurance companies or insurers.
Where it appears to the pharmacist to be in the patient’s health interests to do so, the pharmacist must refuse to dispense a medicinal product. If this medicine is prescribed on a prescription, the pharmacist must immediately inform the prescriber of his refusal and indicate this on the prescription.
Whenever necessary, pharmacists should encourage their patients to consult a qualified practitioner.
Pharmacists must refrain from formulating a diagnosis of the disease in the treatment of which they are called upon to collaborate.
Pharmacists must not, by any means whatsoever, encourage their patients to abuse medicines.
All prices must be made known to the public in accordance with the economic regulations in force. Where the pharmacist is, by virtue of the regulations in force, required to freely set the prices charged in his pharmacy, he must do so with tact and moderation.
