Opticians shall refrain, outside their place of practice, from advertising or communicating to the public their ability to determine refraction.
The optician carries out all the measurements required for the manufacture of optical equipment. These measurements can be taken remotely.
The optician-mutician, whose professional residence is identified, may, at the request of the doctor or the patient, dispense corrective eye lenses and corrective lenses to patients in their own homes or admitted to public or private health or medico-social establishments.
The following is punishable by a fifth-class fine for a hearing aid acoustician: 1° Issue a hearing aid without a prior medical prescription ; 2° Carrying out their activity in premises that do not meet the requirements of article L. 4361-6.
Hire, peddling, itinerant sales, so-called demonstration sales, sales by canvassing and mail order sales of hearing aids are punishable by the fine laid down for fifth class offences.
Repeated offences under this chapter are punishable by the penalties set out in article 132-11 of the French Penal Code.
Prosthetists and orthotists who fit orthopaedic appliances to sick or disabled people include the following professions: 1° Orthoprosthetists ; 2° Pedorthists 3° Ocularists 4° Epithesists; 5° Orthopaedic orthotists.
