A temporary or multi-annual residence permit may be withdrawn from a foreign national who has committed acts that expose him or her to one of the convictions provided for in articles 222-34 to 222-40, 224-1-A to 224-1-C, 225-4-1 to 225-4-4, 225-4-7, 225-5 to 225-11, 225-12-1 and 225-12-2, 225-12-5 to 225-12-7, 225-13 to 225-15, 7° of article 311-4 and articles 312-12-1 and 321-6-1 of the Criminal Code.

A temporary or multi-annual residence permit may be withdrawn from any employer, holder of such a permit, in breach of article L. 8251-1 of the Labour Code as well as from any foreigner who disregards the provisions of article L. 5221-5 of the same code or who carries out a self-employed activity without authorisation.

An employer who has been ordered to leave French territory as a result of the withdrawal, pursuant to the provisions of article L. 432-7, of his temporary or multi-annual residence permit may, within three years of this expulsion decision, be refused the right to work in France. .

The temporary residence permit bearing the wording “student” or “student-mobility programme” provided for in articles L. 422-1, L. 422-2 or L. 422-5, or the multi-annual residence permit bearing the wording “student” may be withdrawn from a foreign student who does not comply with the limit of 60% of the annual working time provided for in the same articles.

A resident card issued in disregard of the provisions of article L. 432-3 must be withdrawn.

Any employer holding a resident card may have it withdrawn if he has employed a foreign worker in breach of the provisions of article L. 8251-1 of the Labour Code.

If a foreign national who cannot be the subject of an expulsion decision pursuant to articles L. 631-2 or L. 631-3 is the holder of a residence permit this may be withdrawn if he/she is the subject of a final conviction on the basis of articles 433-3,433-4, the second to fourth paragraphs of article 433-5, the second paragraph of article 433-5-1 or article 433-6 of the Penal Code.
