APPENDIX RELATING TO THE SAFETY OF DIVING INSTALLATIONS

A. – Springboard diving

1. The boards are at least 4.80 m long and 0.50 m wide. They are provided with a non-slip surface.
2. The springboards are placed either on one or both sides of the platforms.

B. – High-flying diving

1. All platforms must be rigid.
2. The minimum dimensions of the platform are :

Platform 0.60 m to 1 m high	0.60 m wide	5 m long
Platform 2.60 m to 3 m high	1.50 m wide	5 m long
Platform 5.00 m high	1.50 m wide	6 m long
7.50 m high platform	1.50 m wide	6 m long
Platform 10.00 m high	2 m wide	6 m long

3. The maximum thickness of the front edge of the platform is 0.20 m.
The edge may be vertical or inclined at an angle of no more than 10 degrees to the vertical within the plumb line. The surface and front edge of the platform are completely covered with a resilient non-slip surface.
4. The front of the 10 m and 7.5 m platforms extends at least 1.50 m beyond the edge of the pool. This minimum projection is reduced to 1.25 m for 2.60 m to 3 m and 5 m platforms, and to 0.75 m for 0.60 m to 1 m platforms.
5. If a platform is located directly below another platform, the upper platform must be 0.75 m to 1.50 m higher than the lower platform.
6. The rear and sides of the platforms (except the 1 m platform) are surrounded by ramps. They must be at least 1 metre high. They have at least two crossbars placed on the outside of the platform and starting at 0.80 m from the front edge of the platform.

C. – Common provisions

1. The minimum dimensions of the diving facilities are in accordance with the table and diagram below. The reference point is the plumb line which is the vertical line running from the centre of the front edge of the platform.
The dimensions C from the plumb line to the adjacent plumb line, defined in the table below, apply to platforms having the widths indicated in article B2 above. If the platforms are wider, the C dimensions are increased by half the extra widths.
2. In the full depth area, the pool floor may have a slope of 2%. In the diving pit, the water depth may not be less than 1.80 m.
3. In open pools, diving boards and platforms face north in the northern hemisphere and south in the southern hemisphere.
4. Minimum lighting at 1 metre above the water surface is 500 lux.
5. Natural and artificial light sources are designed to avoid glare.
6. A mechanical surface shaker is provided under the diving facilities to assist divers in their visual perception of the water surface.

ANNEXE RELATIVE À LA SÉCURITÉ DES INSTALLATIONS DE PLONGEON

A. – Plongeon du tremplin

1. Les planches ont une longueur minimale de 4,80 m et une largeur minimale de 0,50 m. Elles sont pourvues d’une surface antidérapante.
2. Les tremplins sont placés soit d’un côté, soit des deux côtés des plates-formes.

B. – Plongeon de haut vol

1. Toute plate-forme doit être rigide.
2. Les dimensions minimales de la plate-forme sont de :

Plate-forme de 0,60 m à 1 m de haut	0,60 m de large	5 m de long
Plate-forme de 2,60 m à 3 m de haut	1,50 m de large	5 m de long
Plate-forme de 5,00 m de haut	1,50 m de large	6 m de long
Plate-forme de 7,50 m de haut	1,50 m de large	6 m de long
Plate-forme de 10,00 m de haut	2 m de large	6 m de long

3. L’épaisseur maximale du rebord avant de la plate-forme est de 0,20 m.
Le rebord peut être vertical ou incliné selon un angle de 10 degrés au plus par rapport à la verticale à l’intérieur de la ligne du fil à plomb. La surface et le rebord avant de la plate-forme sont entièrement recouverts d’une surface élastique antidérapante.
4. L’avant des plates-formes de 10 m et 7,5 m dépasse d’au moins 1,50 m le bord du bassin. Ce dépassement minimal est réduit à 1,25 m pour les plate-formes de 2,60 m à 3 m et de 5 m, et à 0,75 m pour les plates-formes de 0,60 m à 1 m.
5. Si une plate-forme se trouve directement au-dessous d’une plate-forme, la plate-forme supérieure dépasse de 0,75 m à 1,50 m la plate-forme inférieure.
6. L’arrière et les cotés des plates-formes (sauf celle de 1 m) sont entourés de rampes. Leur hauteur minimale est de 1 mètre. Elles comportent au moins deux barres de traverse placées à l’extérieur de la plate-forme et commençant à 0,80 m du rebord avant de la plate-forme.

C. – Dispositions communes

1. Les dimensions minimales des installations de plongeon sont conformes au tableau et au schéma ci-après. Le point de référence est le fil à plomb qui est la ligne verticale partant du centre de l’extrémité avant de la plate-forme.
Les dimensions C du fil à plomb au plomb adjacent, définies dans le tableau ci-après, s’appliquent aux plate-formes ayant les largeurs indiquées à l’article B2 ci-dessus. Si les plates-formes sont plus larges, les dimensions C sont augmentées de la moitié des suppléments de largeurs.
2. Dans la zone de pleine profondeur, le fond du bassin peut avoir une pente de 2 %. Dans la fosse à plongeon, la profondeur d’eau ne peut être inférieure à 1,80 m.
3. Dans les bassins découverts, les tremplins et plates-formes sont face au nord dans l’hémisphère Nord et au sud dans l’hémisphère Sud.
4. L’éclairage minimal, à 1 mètre au-dessus de la surface de l’eau, est de 500 lux.
5. Les sources de lumière naturelle et artificielle sont conçues pour éviter l’éblouissement.
6. Une installation mécanique d’agitation de la surface est prévue sous les installations de plongeon afin d’aider les plongeurs dans leur perception visuelle de la surface de l’eau.
