BOOK I: ORGANISATION OF PHYSICAL AND SPORTS ACTIVITIES

An official from the Sports Directorate appointed by the Minister for Youth and the Minister for Sport will act as the Commission’s Secretary General. He/she organises the secretariat for the meetings and coordinates the work of the committee and its sub-committees.

A co-ordination body is set up, comprising the chairmen and vice-chairmen of the plenary committee and each sub-committee, and the secretary general referred to in Article A. 142-27. It is responsible for preparing the work programme of the sub-committees and the Committee and for specific studies.

After receiving the opinion of the coordination body mentioned in article A. 142-28, the annual work programme is drawn up by agreement between the Director of Sport and the President of the Professional Advisory Commission for Sport and Leisure Activities. If no agreement is reached, the programme is drawn up by the Minister for Youth and the Minister for Sport.

The Professional Advisory Committee for Sport and Leisure Activities meets at least twice a year. In the absence of a quorum, it will meet within a fortnight and may deliberate regardless of the number of members present.

The committee is informed regularly, and at least once a year, of the outcome of its work. The committee shall draw up its own rules of procedure defining how it operates.

The members of the committee perform their duties free of charge. However, their travel and subsistence expenses may be reimbursed under the conditions laid down by the public regulations in force.
