The maximum amount of advances that may be granted to a production company during a financial year is determined on the basis of the sum entered, at the beginning of the current year, in the audiovisual production automatic account of that company.This amount is : – €1,525,000 when the amount recorded in the automatic account is less than or equal to €1,525,000;– equal to the amount recorded in the automatic…
For the production of a given work, the advance is allocated and its amount fixed after evaluation of the financial situation of the production company, taking into account the investment allocations it has received during the current year and the reasonable management of its automatic audiovisual production account. The amount of the advance may not exceed 90% of the sum to which the production company will be entitled when the work is included on the list of reference works. This sum is evaluated taking into account the value of the minute point for the current year.
Advances are reimbursed in the amount of 50% of the sums calculated in the following year(s) for the benefit of the beneficiary production companies.The part of the advances that is not reimbursed is retained as a subsidy.
The investment for the preparation of the sums entered in the automatic audiovisual production account is subject to the issue of a payment authorisation.
The production company has a period of three years from notification of authorisation for payment to obtain prior authorisation.Failing this, the Chairman of the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée may decide, depending on the progress of the project and the proof of expenditure provided by the production company, either to request repayment of the aid already paid or to waive repayment of all or part of it.In…

Preparation grants are allocated up to a maximum of 40% of the sums available at the beginning of the current year in the automatic audiovisual production account.
For a single audiovisual work, the amount of the sums invested may not exceed 40% of the amount of the preparation expenses and may not exceed €100,000. For audiovisual works belonging to the fiction genre, the 40% limit is raised to 60% when the sums are invested in the absence of a writing or development agreement with a television service publisher.
