A polling station set up for the election is responsible for overseeing all voting operations and for counting the votes. It is chaired by the representative of the State and includes, where applicable, the president of the disciplinary chamber and the president of the professional body. The polling station is located at the High Commission of the Republic.

The counting of votes takes place at the High Commission of the Republic on the day of the election as provided for in article D. 4233-21. The president may, if necessary, appoint scrutineers to assist the counting of votes. Voters have free access to the counting room during the count. The chairman is responsible for policing the room.

The envelopes are counted before the count, as and when they are received, on the voters’ list. At the start of the count, the polling station checks that the number of envelopes to be opened corresponds to the number of votes recorded on the voters’ list.
