Industrial property attorneys practise their profession with dignity, conscience, independence and probity, and in compliance with the laws and regulations governing their company.
The industrial property attorney shall refrain from any canvassing and advertising not authorised under the conditions provided for in article R. 423-2. He draws up an indicative scale of the amount of his fees, distinct from reimbursements of expenses and royalties. Details of all such charges shall be communicated to any person who so requests.

Any natural or legal person practising the profession of industrial property attorney is subject to checks by the Compagnie nationale des conseils en propriété industrielle concerning compliance with the conditions for inclusion on the list of industrial property attorneys provided for in Article L. 422-5 as well as compliance with the professional obligations set out in Section IV of this chapter.
Controls are carried out by one or more controllers chosen by the President of the Compagnie nationale des conseils en propriété industrielle from among industrial property attorneys or former members of the profession. .
The inspector(s) shall immediately inform the Director General of the National Institute of Industrial Property and the President of the Compagnie nationale des conseils en propriété industrielle of any fact, observed during an inspection, which may constitute a breach of the conditions and obligations mentioned in Article R. 422-52-2.
Within thirty days of the end of the physical inspection operations, the inspector(s) will send a provisional report to the person who was the subject of the inspection.
