The secretariat of the national statutory commission is provided by the Centre national de gestion. The members of the national statutory commission and the staff who provide its secretariat are bound by professional secrecy with regard to all facts and documents of which they are aware in their capacity as such.
Full or alternate members whose dossier is submitted to the committee for an opinion may not take part in the deliberations on the entire agenda item that concerns them.

Members of the National Statutory Committee do not receive any allowances in respect of their duties. They are entitled to travel and subsistence expenses in accordance with the conditions laid down for civil servants.
When the national status committee is called upon to give an opinion on the professional inadequacy of a practitioner under the conditions set out in article R. 6152-80 or R. 6152-255, it sits with the following composition: 1° The chairman or his alternate; 2° The members representing the administration; 3° Elected members representing hospital practitioners from the section in which the practitioner who is the subject of the procedure practices.
