Approval is granted for the medical transport of sick, injured or parturient patients: 1° In all cases, as part of emergency medical aid ; 2° In addition, where applicable, to transport carried out on medical prescription.
Approval for medical transport carried out as part of emergency medical aid may only be granted to persons with : 1° Personnel in the categories mentioned in 1° or 2° of article R. 6312-7, possibly accompanied by personnel in the categories mentioned in 3° and 4° ; 2° One or more vehicles belonging to categories A, B or C mentioned in article R. 6312-8.

Transport is carried out with respect for the patient’s free choice and without discrimination of any kind between patients. Persons holding approval must keep a constantly updated list of the members of their staff who make up the crews of medical transport vehicles, specifying their qualifications.
