Article L225-50 of the French Commercial code

In the event of the temporary impediment or death of the Chairman, the Board of Directors may delegate a director to act as Chairman.

In the event of temporary impediment, this delegation is given for a limited period. It is renewable. In the event of death, it is valid until the election of the new Chairman.

En cas d’empêchement temporaire ou de décès du président, le conseil d’administration peut déléguer un administrateur dans les fonctions de président.

En cas d’empêchement temporaire, cette délégation est donnée pour une durée limitée. Elle est renouvelable. En cas de décès, elle vaut jusqu’à l’élection du nouveau président.
