The chairmen and vice-chairmen of a fire and rescue service board of directors, who receive, pursuant to the provisions of article L. 1424-27, allowances for the actual performance of their duties, are affiliated to the supplementary pension scheme set up for the benefit of non-tenured public authority employees. The Chairman of the Board of Directors is responsible for the administration of the fire and rescue service. In this capacity, he prepares and executes the deliberations of the Board of Directors. He enters into contracts on behalf of the establishment and receives donations, legacies and subsidies on its behalf. In the event of the resignation of all the members of the Board of Directors or the definitive annulment of the election of all its members, the Chairman shall be responsible for the conduct of current business.
