Aircraft arriving from an area where vector control is recommended are disinsected and kept free of vectors. In the event of failure to submit the part of the general aircraft declaration relating to health issues, the Prefect may carry out an inspection and, if necessary, prescribe the measures required to prevent the spread of infection or contamination.
In the event of a risk to public health, an inspection of aircraft may be carried out at the request of the Prefect by the officials mentioned in article L. 3115-1, at all airports that are points of entry within the meaning of article R. 3115-6, and may focus in particular on checking the disinsectisation of aircraft or their general hygiene.
Where there is a risk to public health, the Prefect may order a health inspection of international means of land transport. This inspection is carried out by the agents mentioned in article L. 3115-1.
The Prefect may order a total or partial deratting, disinsectisation or disinfection of a means of transport if it presents a risk to public health. In particular, the Prefect will order such an operation if the need for it is stated in the health inspection certificate or if an aircraft cannot show proof of disinsectisation if it comes from an area mentioned in article R. 3115-48.
The products used for deratting, disinsectisation or disinfection must comply with the provisions of article L. 522-1 of the Environment Code.
The procedures for applying deratting, disinsectisation or disinfection products to a means of transport, depending on the nature of the health threat, comply with the provisions of article L. 522-4 of the Environment Code.
I.- Establishments, services or organisations meeting the conditions set out in article R. 3115-64 and, in the absence of sufficient health resources, practitioners practising in French Guyana and meeting the conditions set out in article R. 3115-65 may be designated to carry out antiamaril vaccination .
