The medical commission provided for in article L. 6431-13 participates, through its opinions, in defining the medicinal products and medical devices policy within the health agency, in particular in drawing up the list of medicinal products and medical devices whose use is recommended, as well as recommendations regarding the prescription and proper use of these health products.
The only medical devices that may be used by the Agency, dispensed by the pharmacy and included on the list provided for in Article D. 6431-74 are those that have received the certification of conformity required for their marketing in mainland France. Medicinal products or medical devices that have been suspended or banned in mainland France may not be used by the Agency or dispensed by the pharmacy.
The Wallis and Futuna Health Agency is responsible for providing prisoners with the care defined in article L. 6431-4, participating in the reception and treatment of emergencies and contributing to prevention and health education initiatives organised in prisons.
The procedures for the involvement of the health agency provided for in article R. 6431-76 are set out in a protocol signed by the director of the health agency, the director of overseas prison services and the head of the prison.
The health agency, in application of article R. 6431-76, includes in its establishment plan the procedures for working in prisons.
The health agency provides care on its premises to prisoners whose condition does not require hospitalisation; under the same conditions, it carries out the examinations, in particular radiological or laboratory tests, required for diagnosis. The following are covered by the State : – expenditure on prevention and health education activities ; – the travel costs of the agency’s healthcare professionals working in the prison.
