The institutional medical committee is made up of representatives of medical, odontological, midwifery and pharmaceutical staff. It elects its chairman. Its composition and operating rules are laid down by regulation.

The staff of public health establishments benefit either from the provisions of article L. 6146-2 or, for staff not covered by these provisions, from a right to direct and collective expression on the content, working conditions and organisation of their work, the terms and conditions of which are defined by regulation.
