Direct subsidies are subject to the same payment and repayment conditions as investment subsidies for production, of which they are an accessory.
Direct allocations are granted in addition to the sums invested by production companies for the preparation of feature-length cinematographic works when the following conditions are met:1° At least 80% of the cost of the preparatory work is incurred in France, up to a maximum of 160% of the combined amount of the sums invested and the direct allocations;2° The preparatory work relating to conception, adaptation and writing gives rise to…
The amount of the direct allocation is equal to 25% of the amount of the sums invested. For the portion of the sums invested and allocated to expenditure corresponding to the work mentioned in 2° of article 211-84, the direct allocation is equal to 50% of the amount of this share when the expenses are paid before the work goes into production.
Direct preparation allowances are subject to the same payment and repayment conditions as preparation investment allowances, of which they are an accessory.
Direct subsidies are granted to delegated production companies for the creation of a digital subtitling file and a digital audio description file at the same time, and for the adaptation of these files to any digital broadcasting medium to allow quality access to cinematographic works by the deaf or hard of hearing and the blind or partially sighted.
Works that meet the following conditions are eligible for direct subsidies for the creation of digital subtitling and audio description files: 1° Be French-initiated; 2° Have given rise to the issue of production approval during the calendar year preceding that in which the direct subsidies are calculated in accordance with article 211-93; 3° Have a final production cost less than or equal to €4,000,000 for cinematographic works belonging to the…
Where eligible cinematographic works have been produced in a foreign language and have not been dubbed into French, aid may be granted solely for the creation of a digital subtitling file and the adaptation of this file to any digital distribution medium.
The work involved in creating digital subtitling and audio description files and adapting said files to any digital broadcast medium includes:1° Writing the subtitle and audio description texts;2° Interpreting and recording the audio description;3° Mixing and sound transfer;4° Inlaying the subtitles;5° Adapting the digital subtitling and audio description files to the various digital broadcast media.This work must be carried out in compliance with the methodological requirements of the Charter relating…
Direct grants for the creation of digital subtitling and audio description files are subject to compliance with Commission Regulation (EU) No 1407/2013 of 18 December 2013 on the application of Articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union to de minimis aid.
Applications for direct allocations must be submitted by the delegated production company no later than 31 December of the calendar year in respect of which the direct allocations are calculated in accordance with Article 211-93.
