The Social and Economic Committee may organise internal staff information meetings in the premises made available to it, particularly on topical issues. The committee may invite outside personalities, trade unions or others, under the conditions set out in articles L. 2142-10 and L. 2142-11. Article L2315-28 of the French Labour Code

In the absence of the agreement provided for in article 2312-19, in undertakings with at least three hundred employees, the social and economic committee meets at least once a month, convened by the employer or his representative. In companies with fewer than three hundred employees, the committee meets at least once every two months. The committee may hold a second meeting at the request of the majority of its members.

The agenda for each meeting of the Social and Economic Committee is drawn up by the Chairman and the Secretary. Consultations made compulsory by law or regulation or by a collective labour agreement are automatically included on the agenda by the chairman or secretary.

The agenda for Social and Economic Committee meetings is sent by the Chairman to the Committee members, to the Labour Inspectorate official referred to in Article L. 8112-1 and to the Social Security bodies’ prevention services official at least three days before the meeting.

Resolutions of the Social and Economic Committee are passed by a majority of the members present. The chairman of the social and economic committee does not take part in the vote when he consults the elected members of the committee as a staff delegation.
