Title II: FINANCIAL AID FOR THE PROMOTION AND DISTRIBUTION ABROAD OF FILM AND AUDIOVISUAL WORKS

Direct grants are awarded either for the promotion abroad of specific audiovisual works or for the promotion abroad of the companies’ catalogue of works mentioned in article 722-6.

Direct subsidies contribute to the following promotional expenses, provided they are directly allocated to the promotion of works abroad, excluding the company’s own operating expenses: 1° Dubbing into a foreign version or purchase of an existing dubbed version; 2° Subtitling into a foreign version, including pre-editing or purchase of an existing subtitled version; 3° Translation into a foreign version of a dialogue continuity known as a “script”, the presentation file…

Companies whose audiovisual works have been co-produced or pre-purchased with companies established abroad are not eligible for direct subsidies for the promotion of these works abroad in the language of the co-producer’s or purchaser’s country.These provisions do not apply to production and distribution companies when they can provide proof of a distribution contract.
