Book II: Medical biology

The unauthorised use of the title of medical biologist or of a diploma, certificate or other title legally required for the exercise of the corresponding functions is punishable as the offence of usurpation of title provided for inarticle 433-17 of the Criminal Code for natural persons, and in articles 433-17 and 433-25 of the same code for legal persons.

Illegal practice of the duties of a medical biologist is punishable by two years’ imprisonment and a fine of €30,000. Any person who does not satisfy the conditions set out in articles L. 6213-1 to L. 6213-5 is illegally practising as a medical biologist.

Failure to submit to the inspections instituted by Articles L. 6221-9 and L. 6221-10 and obstructing the duties of the inspection officers mentioned in Article L. 6231-1 are punishable by six months’ imprisonment and a fine of €7,500.
