The Audiovisual Promotion Aid Committee is made up of four members appointed for a renewable term of two years. A representative of the association called “Unifrance” and a representative of the trade association called “Syndicat des entreprises de distribution des programmes audiovisuels” (SEDPA) attend the committee meetings as observers.
Selective financial aid is awarded to support the distribution abroad of feature-length cinematographic works that are representative of the world’s cinematographies.
The granting of aid for the foreign distribution of works representative of world cinematography is subject to the provisions of Commission Regulation (EU) No 651/2014 of 17 June 2014 declaring certain categories of aid compatible with the internal market in application of Articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty, in particular those provided for in Chapter I and Article 54 of Section 11 relating to aid schemes for audiovisual works.
Financial aid for the distribution abroad of works representative of world cinematography is awarded to companies established on the territory of a State participating in the “MEDIA” sub-programme of the “Creative Europe” programme, provided for in Regulation (EU) No 2021/818 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 May 2021 establishing the “Creative Europe” programme (2021 to 2027).
