Article R4534-72 of the French Labour Code

When demolition work is carried out at a height not exceeding 6 metres above ground level, the installation of a work floor is not compulsory, subject to the following provisions: 1° The work may only be entrusted to qualified workers; 2° It is forbidden to allow workers to climb walls to be demolished that are less than 35 centimetres thick.

Work platforms are fitted on the outside with: 1° Guardrails consisting of two rails, one one metre and the other 45 centimetres above the floor; 2° Skirting boards at least 15 centimetres high.
