The Prefect decides on the application for financial assistance. However, where the aid likely to be granted exceeds an amount set by joint order of the ministers responsible for the budget and employment, the prefect’s order is forwarded to the minister responsible for employment before being implemented. The minister has fifteen days from receipt of the order to review the case and decide on the application.

When the request for financial assistance concerns compensation for additional management costs, it is sent to the Prefect of the département in which the establishment is located. It must be accompanied by proof of the expenditure corresponding to the additional supervision and the opinion of the social and economic committee.
