Title I: Organisation of the activities of health care institutions

The healthcare establishment designated in application of article R. 6111-27 or article R. 6111-28 shall include in its establishment project, as defined in article L. 6143-2, the procedures for its interventions in prisons.

The public health establishment designated in application of article R. 6111-27 provides care in the prison environment and, where applicable, in hospital, to prisoners whose condition does not require hospitalisation; under the same conditions, it carries out or arranges for the carrying out of examinations, in particular radiological or laboratory examinations, necessary for diagnosis. The public health establishment referred to in article R. 6111-27 coordinates the prevention and health education activities organised in the prison. The protocols mentioned in article R. 6111-29 are drawn up by reference to the model protocols determined jointly by the ministers for the budget, justice, health and social security. They take effect on the first day of a month. Unless the co-contracting parties have set a later date, the protocols take effect on the first day of the month following their signature.
