Production companies must:1° Have signed an audiovisual production contract with one or more authors or, where the work belongs to the animation genre, jointly with one or more literary authors and one or more graphic authors;2° Make a personal contribution to financing the development of the audiovisual work project by making a cash contribution equal to at least 20% of the amount of aid awarded.
Project development grants are awarded for the following audiovisual work projects:1° Fiction projects either in the form of single programmes with a planned minimum running time of 60 minutes, or in the form of series;2° Animation projects either in the form of single programmes with a planned minimum running time of 8 minutes, or in the form of series.
If the work belongs to the fiction genre, the project must have been awarded creation aid or rewriting aid.
Project development grants are only awarded for projects conceived and written entirely or mainly in French or in a regional language used in France.
Only the expenses mentioned in article 311-73 directly allocated to the development of projects, excluding operating expenses specific to the production company.
In the event of production, project development aid and, where applicable, preparation aid granted in application of Chapter I of this Title, may not have the effect of increasing the total amount of public financial aid to more than 50% of the final production cost of the work.
The aid application is submitted by one production company or by several production companies acting jointly.
The decision to award a grant is taken, depending on the case, after receiving the opinion of the Fiction Innovation Grant Committee or the Animation Innovation Grant Committee.
The production company has twelve months from the date of the award decision to submit the finished version to the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée, together with proof of expenditure incurred.In exceptional circumstances and at the reasoned request of the production company, the aforementioned deadline may be extended for a period not exceeding six months, by decision of the President of the Centre national du cinéma et…
