TITLE II: PROVISIONS SPECIFIC TO CERTAIN LOCAL PUBLIC SERVICES

If, on the date of installation of the municipal councils provided for in Article L. 2121-7, the Board of Directors has not taken the decision provided for in article R. 1424-2, the prefect shall decide on the distribution of seats and the weighting of votes. .

An order by the minister responsible for civil security sets the deadline for the elections of representatives of the départements, communes and public establishments for inter-communal cooperation to the board of directors, and for the elections of representatives of firefighters and territorial civil servants in the fire and rescue service who are not professional firefighters to the administrative and technical commission of the fire and rescue services.

No one may be a candidate in different categories.

The department’s full and alternate representatives are elected in accordance with the procedures laid down by the departmental council pursuant to Article L. 1424-24-2.

The elections of the representatives of the municipalities and public establishments for inter-municipal cooperation as provided for in Article L. 1424-24-3 are organised by the chairman of the fire and rescue service’s board of directors, who draws up the list of voters and the date of the electoral operations. The lists of candidates shall include as many names of full members as there are seats to be filled. Each candidature for a titular seat is accompanied by the candidature of a substitute. Voters vote for a complete list, without adding or deleting names and without changing the order of presentation.
