A doctor or midwife is never obliged to carry out a voluntary interruption of pregnancy, but must inform the person concerned without delay of her refusal and immediately inform her of the names of practitioners or midwives likely to carry out this procedure in accordance with the conditions laid down in article L. 2212-2. Any establishment where a termination of pregnancy is performed must provide information to women on birth control after the procedure.

Voluntary termination of pregnancy is protected by confidentiality, so that the patient’s anonymity can be preserved if necessary.

The conditions for the application of this chapter shall be determined by decree of the Conseil d’Etat.
