SINGLE TITLE: EXCEPTIONAL MEASURES TO ASSIST COMPANIES IN THE FILM AND OTHER ARTS AND ANIMAL MEDIA SECTORS AFFECTED BY THE COVID-19 EPIDEMIC

In order to encourage distribution companies to contribute to the revival of theatrical exhibition of cinematographic works, the rates for calculating the sums representing the automatic financial aid to which they are entitled under article 222-3, between 2 September 2020 and 16 February 2021, are those set out in article 916-10.

In order to encourage cinematographic distribution companies to contribute to the revival of cinematographic production, direct allocations are granted to them in addition to the sums they invest, pursuant to article 222-7, for applications submitted between 1 January 2021 and 30 June 2021 when the following conditions are met:1° The cinematographic works are French-initiated;2° The cinematographic works have a production cost of less than €8,000,000;3° The cinematographic works were the…

For sums held in the automatic account of distribution companies that were due to expire on 31 December 2020, the period referred to in 2° of article 123-8 is extended by one year.

For cinematographic works commercially exhibited in cinemas between 22 June 2020 and 30 December 2020, by way of derogation from 4° of article 222-19, the maximum number of cinematographic establishments is increased to four hundred and by way of derogation from 5° of the same article, the minimum amount of final distribution expenses is reduced to €35,000.
