Notwithstanding article 223-23, distribution companies have a period of thirty months to exhibit the works in cinemas. Article 919-40 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

By way of derogation from 1° of article 223-4, for the selective aid for the distribution of unreleased works provided for in article 221-24 allocated for a given work from the entry into force of deliberation no. 2021/CA/18 of 27 May 2021 until 31 December 2023, the distribution company must have distributed at least three cinematographic works during the three years preceding the year of the application.
