The authorisation holder takes part in the emergency care network provided for in articles R. 6123-26 to R. 6123-32, under the conditions set out in the network’s constitutive agreement.

The holder of the authorisation organises, by agreement with other health establishments, services or professionals mentioned in the Public Health Code or the Social Action and Family Code, in cases where the patients’ state of health so requires: 1° Their care in facilities providing short or long-term care; 2° Preparing and supporting patients in their reintegration, in particular through admission to a medico-social establishment or service.

The authorisation holder may provide specific care requiring particular expertise, the list of which is drawn up by the Minister for Health. These are included in the multiannual contract of objectives and resources defined in article L. 6114-2.
The authorisation holder must ensure continuity of care. Through the organisation it puts in place, it guarantees the intervention of a doctor within a timeframe compatible with patient safety. This organisation may be common to several health establishments.
