Work equipment is installed and equipped to prevent hazards from falling or flying objects such as machined parts, tooling, swarf and waste.

Components of work equipment intended for the transmission of heat energy, in particular steam or thermal fluid pipes, are arranged, protected or insulated in such a way as to prevent any risk of burns.

The technical requirements laid down in this chapter, in particular the characteristics of the guards provided for in articles R. 4324-1 to R. 4324-3, are specified as necessary by orders issued by the Minister for Labour or the Minister for Agriculture, depending on the category of equipment concerned.
