The National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies determines whether the legal unit belongs to the social and solidarity economy pursuant to 1° of II of Article 1 of Law No. 2014-856 of 31 July 2014 on the social and solidarity economy.

No legal effect attaches to the identification or non-identification of a legal unit registered in the register. It remains subject to any legislative, regulatory or contractual obligation relating to the exercise of its activity.

The identification numbers in the register are communicated to registered legal units and their establishments by the National Institute for Statistics and Economic Studies.
