The staff of public authorities, companies, associations and their authorised establishments have access to funeral chambers and mortuary rooms under the conditions set out in articles R. 2223-75 and R. 2223-89-1. They also have access to crematoria under the conditions set out in the internal regulations.

Families have access to the funeral home, mortuary or crematorium where their deceased is located. The internal regulations specify the terms and conditions of this access.

The prefect of the department draws up a list of the régies, companies and associations and their establishments to which it has granted authorisation, in accordance with Article L. 2223-23. This list is updated every year. It is displayed in the reception areas of funeral chambers, mortuary rooms and crematoria and is available to families there.
